要求处理；能安全消灭就消灭，然后检查可能把它带走的物品。更完整的做法很重要，因为恐慌式喷药可能比一只虫子更伤院子。\n\n Spotted lanternfly，学名 Lycorma delicatula，是一种 invasive planthopper，2014 年首次在美国 Pennsylvania 被发现。USDA APHIS 把 grapevines、hops、stone fruit 和 hardwood trees 列为受害植物。它吸食植物汁液，并留下黏性的 honeydew；这些分泌物会促成 sooty mold，弄脏叶片、露台、家具和车辆。\n\n 它最喜欢的 host 是 tree-of-heaven，Ailanthus altissima，这本身也是入侵植物。但它不会只待在这种树上。Penn State Extension 把它视为葡萄的重要害虫，也把它看作许多庭院植物的压力来源。它通常不会单独杀死健康成年树木，但会让已经遭遇干旱、病害或其他虫害的植物更虚弱。\n\n 现在容易被发现，是因为生命周期到了成人阶段。Penn State 的资料显示，eggs 大约在 September 到 December 之间产下，late April to June 孵化，adults 从 July 活跃到严霜前。夏天成虫更大，也更容易聚集在 trunks、vines、fences 和 patio surfaces 上。\n\n 第一步是识别。幼龄 nymphs 是黑底白点；后期会出现红黑色。Adults 大约一英寸长，前翅灰色带黑点，展开时能看到红、黑、白相间的后翅。Egg masses 看起来像一片灰色或米色泥斑，可能在树皮、石头、金属、塑料、家具、vehicles、firewood or 接着检查会移动的东西：cars、trailers、campers、grills、outdoor furniture、plant pots、bikes、toys、lawn equipment and firewood。硬表面上的卵块很容易漏看。院子里优先关注 grapevines、young black walnut、fruit trees、tree-of-heaven tree-of-heaven 前要先确认树种；它容易和 sumac、black walnut 混淆。成熟树也不要简单砍掉就结束，因为根部可能大量萌蘖。Insecticides 更要谨慎：不要喷 blooming plants，遵守 label 和 local law，压力很大时先问 extension。\n\n 一分钟检查法：拍照、确认 ID、查本地 reporting 规则、处理虫体或 egg
