# A 7-day vocabulary routine for the new school year

 A good vocabulary routine should feel small enough to start and clear enough to repeat. The first week of a new school rhythm is not the best time for a huge language plan. It is a good time for one focused topic, a short list of useful words, and a few simple repetitions.

 ## Day 1: choose one small topic

 Pick one topic you can actually imagine using this week. Not “Spanish for everything”, but something like classroom supplies, morning routine, food at school, commute, homework, sports practice, or talking to classmates.

 The narrower the topic, the easier it is to remember the words later. A small useful list beats a giant list that never becomes a habit.

 ## Day 2: generate individual words

 Ask HabloPablo for separate practice words, not long phrases. For word-pair practice, single words are easier to compare, shuffle, match and repeat.

 A good first list is usually 20-30 words. That is enough to feel progress, but still short enough to finish in one sitting.

 ## Day 3: listen once without pressure

 Turn the list into an MP3 vocabulary and listen once while doing something simple: walking, commuting, cleaning your desk, or getting ready in the morning.

 Do not try to memorize everything immediately. The first listen is just orientation: your brain starts recognizing the sound of the words before you test yourself.

 ## Day 4: play word-pair practice

 Open `/train` in HabloPablo and choose the same vocabulary. Matching source words with translations gives quick feedback and makes weak spots visible.

 If you make mistakes, that is useful data. The goal is not a perfect first run. The goal is to find which words need another pass.

 ## Day 5: repeat only the hard words

 Look at the words you missed or hesitated on. Read them once, listen again, then run another short practice session.

 This is where the list starts becoming yours. Repetition works better when it is focused on the words that actually caused trouble.

 ## Day 6: use or share the list

 Try to use five words in your own examples, or share the vocabulary with a friend who is learning the same language. Sharing is useful because it turns a private list into a tiny learning object someone else can reuse.
